The Wasp and the Wildflower is a third-year group film project about two childhood friends realizing their true feelings for each other during the Midsommar Festival. As they navigate their emotions, a wasp lingers nearby, reflecting the protagonist’s inner anxieties.
For this project, I worked as a Colour Artist and Compositing Lead, ensuring the film’s visual cohesion and final look. I also contributed as a former Art Director, helping to shape the overall artistic vision.

Sequence Colour Script
In The Wasp and the Wildflower, the sky reflects the protagonist’s emotions, making it a key visual element in the film.
It starts with a soft, warm blue sky, setting a dreamy and gentle mood. As emotions build, the colors become more intense and saturated, reaching a vibrant peak. By the end, the sky fades into a soft purple, bringing a sense of warmth and resolution.

Art Direction
In the early stages of The Wasp and the Wildflower, I took on the role of Art Director, establishing the overall visual direction of the film.
With four distinct sequences, I focused on crafting cohesive backgrounds, colours, and character designs that enhance the film’s atmosphere.
To achieve both a unique style and production efficiency, I developed a flat yet vibrant aesthetic, allowing the colors to take center stage while maintaining a streamlined workflow.
